Research Group

The research group has long been dedicated to the study of plant light signal transduction and light controlled plant development. The research direction mainly involves the activation mechanism and signal transduction of plant blue light receptors; Molecular mechanisms of UV signal transduction and plant adaptation to UV stress; Screening and identification of green light receptors and green light signal transduction; The photothermal plasticity of plant growth and development. Currently undertaking projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China Outstanding Youth Fund, Original Exploration Project, and Key Project.


Team Leader: Liu Hongtao, Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Life and Ocean Sciences, Shenzhen University. It has successively received funding from national key research and development projects, the National Natural Science Foundation of China's "Outstanding Youth Fund", "Excellent Youth Fund", "Key", "Original Exploration", the National "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" for leading talents in scientific and technological innovation, the Ministry of Science and Technology's "Promotion Plan" for young leading talents in scientific and technological innovation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences' "Hundred Talents Plan", Shanghai's "Excellent Academic Leader", "Pujiang Talent" and other projects. Long term research on plant light signal transduction has revealed the molecular mechanism of the synergistic regulation of plant development by light and temperature; Revealed the molecular mechanisms of plant adaptation to changes in UV UV-B levels, coordinated growth, and stress responses; Opened up a new research direction on the regulation of plant development by green light signals.
